On May 29, 2025, the Men’s Breakfast had a special guest.
Dr. Larry Mohr, who usually listens from his home thru the internet, joined us in person to share about his service as President Ronald Reagan’s personal physician (1984-1987) and then as President George H. W. Bush’s personal physician (1988-1991). The stories were fascinating, ranging from his advising on the medical facilities on the new (at the time) Boeing 747 or traveling to Europe to East Berlin to hear the famous Brandenburg Gate “Tear down this Wall” speech.
Before his medical career began, Dr. Mohr served in Vietnam as a Field Artillery Officer in command of an artillery unit in the 101st Airborne Division. He received the Silver Star for gallantry in action and also 2 bronze stars.
Dr. Mohr is now in a wheelchair, due to an unfortunate fall off his porch which severed his spinal cord. He has a positive outlook on life and advised us to “keep going forward to get the job done”. He relies on his relationship with God and his Savior, Jesus Christ, for strength and guidance.
The Thursday Morning 7am Men’s Breakfast & Bible Study is currently studying Proverbs.
We have been meeting for over 15 years and studied other books such as Matthew, John and Romans. We meet in Resurrection Hall, Thursdays at 7am, having a light breakfast, some discussion, prayers and bible study.
