The men who were originally planning to go on a Men's Hike this weekend opted to head to Arden SC to assist with relief efforts from Hurricane Helene instead. Please keep them in your prayers during their trip. They left this morning (October 10) with three trailers filled with supplies and will be operating out of Lutheridge Camp and Conference Center.
Meemee Williams is also leaving with a car packed full of supplies this afternoon to the Asheville area. Pray for her safety and guidance and that the supplies may reach those who need them.
We have received word that there is a current need for coats, blankets and hothands as temperatures are starting to drop and many homes are stil without power. We will be collecting these in addition to the items for the emergency relief kits listed on this PDF.
We also received a request for Bibles from Kay Kitchen's grandson, Leslie, who lives in Kingsport TN. Hurricane Helene destroyed or washed away many Bibles and the people of Kingsport are asking for replacements. Leslie with the Cowboys of Hope are collecting Bibles, new or used, to hand out. We will be collecting them on Sunday. Danny Howe with Broad St Methodist Church will be in town and will take the Bibles we collect back to Kingsport with him.
