Installation of Bishop Lawrence as Provincial Chaplain of the Holy Cross (DHC)

In the Anglican Diocese of SC, The Order of the Daughters of the Holy Cross (DHC) has increased their number of chapters to 7 and 2 more are currently in progress. A chapter involves a minimum of three women from one or more churches. Through the efforts of our own Sally Dixon, Director of Music at St. John’s Parish Church, the DHC has become well established in SC. Bishop Mark J Lawrence was installed as the Provincial (National) Chaplain of the Order on January 24, 2020.
We are an Order of women committed to making disciples and serving Jesus through our Rule of Life: prayer, service, study and evangelism.
Daughters support and sustain the church by praying for the clergy, staff and congregation, as well as studying the Word of God to grow in their faith. Serving others and sharing the Gospel is part of how Daughters live out their Rule of Life. Daughters reach out to those who do not know Jesus and share His message of salvation through word and deed. Their vision is to gather Anglican women and girls into a nurturing and empowering community called to be servants of Jesus as He unites and builds up His body, the Church.

The institution of The Order of the Daughters of the Holy Cross was formed September 9, 2009, Holy Cross Day. This was just a few months after the Anglican Church in North America was constituted.
O gracious and Holy Father,
that thy Son may be glorified,
give thy Daughters wisdom to perceive thee,
intelligence to understand thee,
diligence to seek thee,
patience to wait for thee,
eyes to behold thee,
a heart to meditate upon thee,
and a life to proclaim thee;
by the power of the Holy Spirit
through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
