Holy Communion Pick-up at Walton Hall

Wednesday, 5-7 pm or Saturday, 9-11 am

We invite you to pick-up Communion Wafers this week in order to receive Holy Communion with us this Sunday. Pre-Consecrated Communion Wafers will be in sealed plastic containers (either 4 or 2 to a container, as well as individual gluten-free wafers) in a basket outside of the main entrance to Walton Hall. You can pick them up either Wednesday from 5-7 pm, or Saturday from 9-11 am. We will then receive Communion together by consuming these wafers this Sunday at the 9 am worship service online.

Letter Regarding use of Walton Hall

Friday July 31st is Agnes Dixon's last day as our Church Administrator

Dear Saints of St. John's,

It is with sadness and great fondness that we announce the retirement of our own Agnes Berry Dixon as Parish Administrator. Her last day will be Friday, July 31. She has provided admirable service to our community through this position for two years. We will sorely miss her heart-felt and conscientious work for the people of God at St. John's. We will miss her strength of conviction, her work ethic, her steadfastness, and the great joy she infused daily into her work and gave to the people around her. I will personally miss most working with a close friend. She and Ben are not going anywhere, she is just looking towards a different phase of life. Agnes is expanding her volunteer activities in the parish, so I am excited about that.

So, please send your best wishes and thanks to her, and for her service these last two years.
In Christ's service,

Fr. Greg+

Prayers

For Persecuted Churches - Vietnam

We pray for persecuted churches around the world.
For the month of August, we pray for the nation of Vietnam.

Heavenly Father, we ask for your mercy upon Christian brothers and sisters who face great need in the Covid-19 crisis. Amongst persecution from the government, Christians are also not receiving necessary aid. Please provide for and protect Christians in Vietnam.
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Prayers for Healing

May we who are merely inconvenienced

Remember those whose lives are at stake.

May we who have no risk factors

Remember those most vulnerable.

May we who have the luxury of working from home

Remember those who must choose between preserving their health or making their rent.

May we who have the flexibility to care for our children when their schools close

Remember those who have no options.

May we who have to cancel our trips

Remember those that have no safe place to go.

May we who are losing our margin money in the tumult of the economic market

Remember those who have no margin at all.

May we who settle in for a quarantine at home

Remember those who have no home.

As fear grips our country,

let us choose love.

During this time when we cannot physically wrap our arms around each other,

Let us yet find ways to be the loving embrace of God to our neighbors.

Amen

Increase, O God, the spirit of neighborliness among us,
that in peril we may uphold one another,
in suffering tend to one another,
and in homelessness, loneliness, or exile befriend one another.
Grant us brave and enduring hearts that we may strengthen
one another,
until the disciplines and testing of these days are ended,
and you again give peace in our time;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.
