Haut Gap Valentines

We are continuing to collect for Haut Gap teachers. We would like to donate at least 100 boxes of tissue.

Easter Cards Will Encourage Lieber Inmates

Once again, we will work through St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church on Daniel Island, which will coordinate with the correctional officers at Lieber. There are 1,100 inmates. We would love for St. John's parishioners begin working on cards now.

Please write a note inside each card sharing with inmates how much God loves them and desires a relationship with them. Our sincere hope is that we can share the Gospel and possibly help these inmates find the greatest gift of all this Easter.

You may contribute as many cards as you wish! If you do not have Easter cards, write a note on a card of encouragement and add Easter greetings.
Please remember that cards should have no attachments (such as ribbons or stickers), you should not sign your full name (please use either your first name or "a friend") and do not seal cards because they must be screened for security.
A collection basket will be on the table each Saturday when you collect your Communion kit. When we return to in-person worship, we will place baskets in Guerry Hall and the Parish Life Building. Cards will be delivered closer to Easter.
Thanks for helping us give hope to the inmates at Lieber. God bless you.

Altar Flowers

Flowers were given to the glory of God and in loving memory of
the Rev. and Mrs. Clinton Henderson Sr. by Russell and Anna Henderson.
St. John's Altar Flower Ministry designs new flower creations each week for Sunday services. Flowers are selected individually and prepared on Friday. The cost to dedicate flowers is $70 for two vases or $40 for one. Contact Sally Dixon (, 843-709-4894) to sign up for the Sunday of your choice.
The flower delivery guild needs volunteers to deliver flowers in accord with COVID protocols. If you have delivered flowers in the past, or would like to join that ministry, please contact Sally Dixon.

At St. John's

Sunday, Feb. 21
Almighty God, whose blessed Son was led by the Spirit to be tempted by Satan: Come quickly to help us who are assaulted by many temptations, and, as you know the weaknesses of each of us, let each one find you mighty to save; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

For Persecuted Churches

We pray for persecuted churches around the world. For the month of February we pray for the nation of Myanmar. Heavenly Father, Christians and Christian churches in Myanmar are suffering due to violence, insurrection, persecution, and political upheaval. We lift them up in your Holy Name, asking for your mercy to surround them. We pray for the Christian churches in Myanmar to persevere through the power of the Holy Spirit. Lord, in your mercy: Hear our prayer.
