Worship Here Again!

As we see COVID cases decreasing and many of us are now being vaccinated, we are returning to in-person worship. This Sunday, Feb. 28, St. John's will be back in Walton Hall at 9 a.m. and in the Church at 10:30 a.m.

As we have since COVID became such a threat, we will worship socially distance (at least six feet apart) and wear face masks. The 9 a.m. service in Walton Hall will continue to stream live on Facebook.

Please abide by the standards of social distance and wash your hands often. Remember that many in our parish await vaccinations.

For more information, visit this webpage of Frequently Asked Questions, edited by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

A Lenten Teaching

Here is a video of the service on Feb. 24.

This teaching will stream live at 8 p.m. Wednesdays during Lent. Each 20-minute session will include Compline and teaching. Each session will be recorded and available for streaming on demand through our website and mobile app.
Tish Harrison's book is not required, but is available through Amazon.

Anglican Women's Gathering

Food Pantry Drive

Donations of shelf-stable food will help families cope with the longer-term effects of COVID-19. Drop off items from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday or at the church office Monday through Wednesday.

Haut Gap Valentines

We are continuing to collect for Haut Gap teachers. We would like to donate at least 100 boxes of tissue.

Please donate one or more boxes at Walton Hall from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday or at the church office Monday to Wednesday until Feb. 28. Contact Peggy Gervais for more information.

Easter Cards Will Encourage Lieber Inmates

"Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison." -Hebrews 13:3

Please write a note inside each card sharing with inmates how much God loves them and desires a relationship with them. Our sincere hope is that we can share the Gospel and possibly help these inmates find the greatest gift of all this Easter.

A collection basket will be on the table each Saturday when you collect your Communion kit and Sunday in Walton Hall and Monday-Wednesday in Guerry Hall. Cards will be delivered closer to Easter.

Please remember that cards should have no attachments (such as ribbons or stickers), you should not sign your full name (please use either your first name or "a friend") and do not seal cards because they must be screened for security.
Thanks for helping us give hope to the inmates at Lieber. God bless you.

Altar Flowers

Flowers were given to the glory of God and in loving memory of Lizzie & Hugh Miller
& Marguerite & JG McDaniel by Dr & Mrs Stuart McDaniel.
St. John's Altar Flower Ministry designs new flower creations each week for Sunday services. Flowers are selected individually and prepared on Friday. The cost to dedicate flowers is $70 for two vases or $40 for one. Contact Sally Dixon (, 843-709-4894) to sign up for the Sunday of your choice.
The flower delivery guild needs volunteers to deliver flowers in accord with COVID protocols. If you have delivered flowers in the past, or would like to join that ministry, please contact Sally Dixon.

At St. John's

Sunday, Feb. 28
Almighty God, you know that we have no power in ourselves to help ourselves: Keep us both outwardly in our bodies and inwardly in our souls, that we may be defended from all adversities that may happen to the body, and from all evil thoughts that may assault and hurt the soul; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

For Persecuted Churches

We pray for persecuted churches around the world. For the month of February we pray for the nation of Myanmar. Heavenly Father, Christians and Christian churches in Myanmar are suffering due to violence, insurrection, persecution, and political upheaval. We lift them up in your Holy Name, asking for your mercy to surround them. We pray for the Christian churches in Myanmar to persevere through the power of the Holy Spirit. Lord, in your mercy: Hear our prayer.
