Reveal Yourself to your Lenten Prayer Partner

You can reveal yourself to your Lenten prayer partner over Easter. Let them know it was you praying for them throughout Lent. You can reveal yourself with a card, a note, flowers, a prayer journal anyway you like. Encourage children and adults to continue to keep their "chosen" person and others in their prayers, spend some time getting to know that person in a special way.

"Almighty and Everlasting God, You have given the human race Jesus Christ our Savior as a model of humility. He fulfilled Your Will by becoming Man and giving His life on the Cross. Help us to bear witness to You by following His example of suffering and make us worthy to share in His Resurrection. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son."

Final Lenten Teaching in our Series

Here is the video of the service on Mar. 24 and all previous sessions.

This teaching will stream live at 8 p.m. Wednesdays during Lent. Each 20-minute session will include Compline and teaching. Each session will be recorded and available for streaming on demand through our website and mobile app.
Tish Harrison's book is not required, but is available through Amazon.

Prayers for the Inmates at Lieber this Easter

Thank you, thank you! When the opportunity to get involved in the Lieber Card ministry was publicized at St. John's, parishioners faithfully answered the call with their usual love and enthusiasm! Approximately 700 cards of all types (hand drawn, store bought, colored pictures, handwritten notes) were turned in so that inmates would be remembered Easter Day and shown the love of Christ. An additional 400 were created as well using wonderful notes from some men in our parish. Each inmate receives a card with either a bookmark or scripture card. Thank you to all who participated and all who have been praying! As you know….prayer is crucial. We ask that you continue to pray that hearts are softened and for these cards to encourage the men to begin asking questions and seek out Jesus Christ. We are praying for revival at Lieber!
God bless you all, Chrissy, Debbie and Libby.

March Mission Madness Month

Uganda Scholarships

We are not quite ready to have our Mission Oyster Roast ... well, we are all MORE than ready...but the children of clergy in The Diocese of Northern Uganda still need schooling. Please consider a scholarship this year for a clergy child to go to a Christian school. A scholarship of $150 for a year's tuition in Uganda is comparable to the $8,000 average Christian school here. What a wonderful gift to that child, their family and to the community, keeping Christian education alive for the Diocese. You may make a check out to St John's with scholarship in the memo line or Click here to give online.

PRAYERS

Altar Flowers

Flowers were given to the glory of God and in memory of
Benjamin R. Jenkins Sr. & Carole Jenkins Hardman by Doug Hardman
St. John's Altar Flower Ministry designs new flower creations each week for Sunday services. Flowers are selected individually and prepared on Friday. The cost to dedicate flowers is $70 for two vases or $40 for one. Contact Sally Dixon (sdixon@stjohnsparish.net, 843-709-4894) to sign up for the Sunday of your choice.
The flower delivery guild needs volunteers to deliver flowers in accord with COVID protocols. If you have delivered flowers in the past, or would like to join that ministry, please contact Sally Dixon.

At St. John's

Collect

Palm Sunday, Mar. 28
Almighty and everlasting God, in your tender love for us you sent your Son our Savior Jesus Christ to take upon himself our nature, and to suffer death upon the Cross, giving us the example of his great humility: Mercifully grant that we may walk in the way of his suffering, and come to share in his resurrection; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

For Persecuted Churches

We pray for persecuted churches around the world. For the month of March we pray for the nation of China. Heavenly Father, Christians and Christian churches in China are suffering due to Communist and post-Communist oppression, agnosticism, authoritarian rule, and restrictions that limit Christian worship. We pray for the Christian churches in China to continue to grow despite all these persecutions. Enliven their spirits by the power of the Holy Spirit. Lord, in your mercy. Hear our prayer.
