NEWS and EVENTS

Video Announcements, Apr. 18

Communion pick up time and location change

You may continue to pick up Communion kits, but instead of Saturday they can be collected on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. in Guerry Hall. For access, please ring the doorbell now located on the outside entrance door to Guerry Hall. If this time is not feasible, please call the Church Office to arrange an alternate pick-up time.

Calling Lay Readers

Now that we are meeting in person on Sundays and most of us are vaccinated, if you are willing to be a lay reader again, or would like to be a lay reader, please contact Father Greg or Father Jeremy.

Do we have your correct email address?

Often, we will send out an email blast on a specific topic from the Church's contact database. It has become apparent that many of our parishioners do not have up-to-date email addresses in our system. Click on this link to send an email to Sally Dixon in the office with all of your families correct email addresses.

Funeral for Kay Williams

Katherine "Kay" Walpole Williams, a longtime parishioner, friend of St. John's and office angel passed away Saturday April 10. A graveside service will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday April 24 at Johns Island Presbyterian Church Cemetery. You can read her obituary here at Russell's Funeral Chapel.

PRAYERS

Easter Sunday Altar Flowers

Flowers were given to the glory of God and in thanksgiving for St. John's Parish Church congregation, staff and clergy by Jane Brown.
St. John's Altar Flower Ministry designs new flower creations each week for Sunday services. Flowers are selected individually and prepared on Friday. The cost to dedicate flowers is $70 for two vases or $40 for one. Contact Sally Dixon (sdixon@stjohnsparish.net, 843-709-4894) to sign up for the Sunday of your choice.
The flower delivery guild needs volunteers to deliver flowers in accord with COVID protocols. If you have delivered flowers in the past, or would like to join that ministry, please contact Sally Dixon.

At St. John's

Collect

Sunday, Apr. 25
O God, whose Son Jesus Christ is the Good Shepherd of your people: Grant that, when we hear his voice, we may know him who calls us each by name, and follow where he leads; who, with you and the Holy Spirit, lives and reigns, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

For Persecuted Churches

We pray for persecuted churches around the world. For the month of April we pray for the nation of Colombia. Heavenly Father, Christians and Christian churches in Colombia are suffering due to violent drug cartels, guerrilla warfare, and organized crime groups. We pray for the Christian churches in Colombia to share the gospel of Christ despite all these persecutions. Enliven their spirits by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Lord, in your mercy. Hear our prayer.
