Father's Day Cards for Charleston County Jail

This Sunday June 13 is our last opportunity to give Father's Day cards to Charleston County Jail. We currently have collected 50 cards towards our goals of 200. You can bring your own cards anytime to Guerry Hall or we will have preprinted cards in Walton Hall, the Church and Guerry Hall that you can add your own words to. Please remember to only use your first name, all cards will be screened by the jail.
The son gathered all he had and squandered his property in reckless living. But then he came to himself and thought, I will go home and say to my father, "Father, I am no longer worthy to be called your son." While he was still a long way off, his father ran to him and embraced him and kissed him and said, "Bring the finest robe and put it on him! Kill the fattened calf for a feast! Let us eat and celebrate! My son who was dead is alive again. He was lost but is found. Luke 15:11.

This Sunday, Celebrate with the Gauss'.

Please join us in celebration of Father Ron & Jo Anne Gauss' last Sunday in Walton Hall St. John's. Please come and celebrate with us after the 10:30 a.m. service at noon June 13. We will have a prepared meal indoors Walton Hall.

Sosnowski Scholarship

The Sosnowski Scholarship is a need-based scholarship awarded to a rising college freshman or current college student who is/has been actively involved in the life of St. John's Parish Church. The scholarship committee welcomes applications through June 30. High School graduates or current college students seeking financial aid for the coming year are encouraged to apply. The recipient(s) will be notified in mid-July. In previous years, the scholarship money has provided financial help in purchasing college textbooks or materials.

Application forms are available via the church website or you may contact the church office for a copy. If you have questions, contact Libby Puckette (843)559-0977 or elpuck@comcast.net.

At St. John's

Collect

June 13
O Lord, from whom all good proceeds: Grant us the inspiration of your Holy Spirit, that we may always think those things that are good, and by your merciful guidance may accomplish the same; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

For Persecuted Churches

We pray for persecuted churches around the world. For the month of June we pray for the nation of Kenya. Heavenly Father, Christians and Christian churches in Kenya are suffering due to radical Islamic persecution, tribalism, corruption, organized crime, and violence. We pray for all Christians in Kenya to endure the pressures of all these persecutions. We pray for the Christian leaders to persevere through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Lord, in your mercy. Hear our prayer.
