Sosnowski Scholarship Award

The Sosnowski Scholarship is a need-based scholarship awarded to a rising college freshman or current college student who is/has been actively involved in the life of St. John's Parish Church.

This school year 2021-2022 the Sosnowski Scholarship has been awarded to Ashleigh Anne Binz. The award, is given towards the cost of textbooks for her fall semester as a sophomore at Clemson University. During Ashleigh's freshman year at Clemson she was involved with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and also chose to be a staff member at Camp St. Christopher this summer under Justin Johnson's leadership. We wish Ashleigh the best in her studies and all her endeavors this year at Clemson. Please congratulate Ashleigh on being awarded the Sosnowski Scholarship.

The Scholarship committee welcomes applications through June 30 each year. High School graduates or current college students seeking financial aid for the coming year are encouraged to apply. In previous years the scholarship money has provided financial help in purchasing college textbooks or materials.

Application forms are available via the church website or you may contact the church office for a copy. If you have questions, contact Libby Puckette (843)559-0977 or

Flowers were given to the glory of God

St. John's Altar Flower Ministry designs new flower creations each week for Sunday services. Flowers are selected individually and prepared on Friday. The cost to dedicate flowers is $70 for two vases or $40 for one. Contact Sally Dixon (, 843-709-4894) to sign up for the Sunday of your choice.

At St. John's

August 1
Almighty and merciful God, it is only by your grace that your faithful people offer you true and laudable service: Grant that we may run without stumbling to obtain your heavenly promises; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen

For Persecuted Churches

We pray for persecuted churches around the world. For the month of August we pray for the nation of Tunisia. Heavenly Father, Christians and Christian churches in Tunisia are suffering due to violent persecution, Islamic hostility, and extreme discrimination. Please provide partnerships, advocacy, and peace, through the power and presence of your Holy Spirit. Lord, in your mercy. Hear our prayer.
