Haut Gap News

The special education teacher at Haut Gap runs a little in-class store and the students can earn "good behavior bucks" to purchase items. It is a great system to help them learn and maintain appropriate behavior. She stocks the store from her own pocket so it would be nice if we could help her out a little. If you are interested in providing her with little snacks and pencils, hair bands, stickers, etc. please contact Peggy Gervais, Sally Frazier or Walt Miller. We will put your name on a buyers list so when she has a request we can let you know what items she needs. Thanks for supporting "our" school!

Backpack Tags

We still have blessed Backpack Tags for your children's back to school. Contact Rob Schluter or come to Guerry Hall.

Anglican Women's Fall Retreat

Registration is now open for our Annual Women's Retreat which will take place on Oct 1-3 at St. Christopher Camp and Conference Center. Dana Henry is the Keynote Speaker and will speak on "Finding our Identity in Christ."

Amazon Smile
and St. John's Parish Church

Next time you go to Amazon, why not order with Amazon Smile and set your charity to St. John's Parish Church Johns Island. You might be interested in a book that Fr. Jeremy is currently reading. Jesus outside the lines by Scott Sauls. Scott Sauls is senior pastor of Christ Presbyterian Church in Nashville.

Whatever the issue of the day on Twitter, Facebook, or cable news, today's media pushes each one of us into a frustrating clash between two opposing sides. Scott Sauls shows us how the words and actions of Jesus reveal a response that does not perpetuate the destructive fray. Jesus offers us a way forward - away from harshness, caricatures and stereotypes. In Jesus Outside the Lines, you will experience a fresh perspective of Jesus, who will not (and should not) fit into the sides.

At St. John's

August 29
O Lord, we pray that your grace may always precede and follow after us, that we may continually be given to good works; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen

For Persecuted Churches

We pray for persecuted churches around the world. For the month of August we pray for the nation of Tunisia. Heavenly Father, Christians and Christian churches in Tunisia are suffering due to violent persecution, Islamic hostility, and extreme discrimination. Please provide partnerships, advocacy, and peace, through the power and presence of your Holy Spirit. Lord, in your mercy. Hear our prayer.
