Low Country Pregnancy Center Walk for Life

The Lowcountry Walk for Life is open to anyone of any age. Everyone is welcome to walk this scenic paved path at Wannamaker County Park and be a part of this important event for the sanctity and value of all human life. The fundraising goal for the Low Country Walk for Life is $180,000. All of the funds raised help sustain the Christian ministry work of Lowcountry Pregnancy Center and affiliates to help young moms, babies, and families by providing free medical care, pregnancy support, parenting education, and more.
Click here more information and to register for the walk.

Annual Feeding the Multitude Update

Our goal is to again feed 5000 (1200 bags of food and 1000 turkeys plus 200 plated meals to home-bound). We hope to get back to the old format when we are rid of COVID.

What can you do to help?
  1. Pray for a successful, Spirit-led Feeding, so that many people are fed both spiritually and physically. Pray for another beautiful rain-free day.
  2. Commit to donating a bag of food or being a Neighborhood Captain (getting your neighbors, co-workers, small groups, etc) to donate bags. See the attached Neighborhood Captain Letter that provides more information.
  3. Let Meemee Williams (843) 513-8886 or Michael and Ame Holcombe (864) 238-7785 know the number of bags that you will promise to have in November.
We prayerfully request that our able neighbors contribute the following:
  • 2 lb. bag of rice
  • 1 x 14-18 oz. can/jar or 2 packets of turkey gravy
  • 2 x 14-16 oz. cans of green beans
  • 2 x 14-16 oz. can of yams or sweet potatoes
  • 1 box of stove top stuffing
  • 1 x 14-16 oz. can of cranberry sauce or dressing
  • 1 box of (just-add-water) biscuit mix
  • 1 bag/box of pre-packaged, store-bought cookies
When you purchase your groceries, please ask the cashier to double bag them in sturdy paper bags (with handles if possible). It's a good idea to shop early, but please ensure expiration dates are after 12/21. The approximate cost of these ingredients is $25. Please let me know if you can donate a bag of groceries so we can plan properly. Then, leave your grocery donation on your front porch by 9 AM Sat., November 13th, for pick-up by your Neighborhood Captain or bring to St. John's Parish Church.

Feel free to contact Meemee, Michael/Amy or Claudia Boyce (843-860-8811 if you have questions.

Altar Flowers

Flowers were given to the glory of God and in memory of
Henry F. & Evelyn Hart Rivers, by their family.

St. John's Altar Flower Ministry designs new flower creations each week for Sunday services. Flowers are selected individually and prepared on Friday. The cost to dedicate flowers is $70 for two vases or $40 for one. Contact Sally Dixon (, 843-709-4894) to sign up for the Sunday of your choice.

At St. John's

Oct 3
Keep, O Lord, your household the Church in continual godliness, that through your protection it may be free from all adversities, and devoutly serve you in good works, to the glory of your Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen

For Persecuted Churches

We pray for persecuted churches around the world. For the month of October we pray for the nation of Afghanistan. Heavenly Father, we pray for the protection of Afghani Christians. We ask you for safety, provision, and peace. We lift up those who have been martyred. We pray for the softening of hearts of the Taliban - give them visions and dreams of Jesus. Lord, may your strength be poured out amongst all those who are suffering in Afghanistan. We pray for the revelation of Jesus Christ, who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, to be manifest in Afghanistan.
