Thank you to everyone who has donated and signed up to help with the breakfast for the Haut Gap teachers and staff. A reminder, the breakfast is at 8AM, Tuesday, August 4.  It's not too late to sign up to help, and we still need biscuits and sliced fruit. On behalf of my family, I cannot thank St. John’s Parish Church enough for the abundance of your welcome, generosity, and prayers upon our arrival this past weekend.  As soon as we entered the van after church, our older son Joey exclaimed, “Well, I feel incredibly welcomed!”  As Sunday was winding down, he was the first person to read through all of your cards.  All of us truly felt encouraged and welcomed on our first Sunday.  Thank you so much for the richness of your welcome and hospitality extended to us.  I very much look forward to getting to know all of you as we share in the mission of the Gospel together for the sake of Johns Island and outwards to the world all for the glory of God.  Grace and Peace to you all!

During our worship service on August 9, we will have a blessing for our students and teachers for this upcoming school year. Students, bring your backpacks with you to be blessed. Teachers, please join us as well so we may bless you and the work you will do this school year.

Did your child attend Camp Jubilee this Summer? We're putting together a short video for campers to share their experience with St John's Parish Church. We're looking for campers of all ages to participate. If your child has a story to share, please contact Fr. Jeremy: frjeremy@stjohnsparish.net.

The mission trip to Peru is November 20-26. If you have any interest in participating in this trip please complete the application below and submit by September 1. This will help us ensure that the logistics of the trip are completed in advance and to address any complications before it is to late to fix. For more information, contact Ann Edenfield.

Please remember to wear a nametag on Sunday morning. This simple act goes a long way to make St. John's Parish Church a welcoming environment to newcomers and long-time members alike. We have disposable nametags available in the Connection Corridor or use a permanent one. If you would like a permanent nametag and don't have one, put your name on the list which will be next to the disposable nametags on Sunday.

We Are Sharing Hope, the organ procurement organization Anne Dixon works with, collects aluminum pop tabs to donate to the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC).  Anne would like to invite the people of St. John’s Parish Church assist her with the collection of pop tabs to help. You can either give your tabs to Anne directly on Sundays, or you can bring them to Resurrection Hall where we have a collection container. Click the link below to learn more.

Summer Sunday School is in full swing! Children in grades 1-5 are enjoying a relaxed summer schedule featuring movies, popcorn and lively discussion. The short films highlight the stories of the Old Testament leaders and prophets. Our youngest children, ages 3-5, are also exploring the lives of Old Testament leaders and prophets through interactive play, music, felt-board storytelling and simple crafts design just for them. While the pace for summer may be a little more relaxed, our mission remains the same: nurturing young hearts and minds in the knowledge and love of God’s only Son, our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus. 

Saxby for many years was an acolyte and now plays both alto and tenor saxophone with the praise team on Sunday mornings. We are so grateful to have such a talented young man help lead us in worship and his willingness to help whenever called upon no matter the task is always noticed. Thank you Saxby for all you do for St. John's Parish Church.

Bishop Edgar and Father Jeremy authorize the Lay Eucharistic Ministers to take the Eucharist to those who are physically unable to attend a regular church service. This is a blessed ministry. The Lay Eucharistic Ministers are able to experience the Lord’s presence in a special way as he reaches out through us to touch and minister to those who we have missed in our congregation. He allows us to share his presence and be with those who need to know that He hasn’t forgotten them, and St John's Parish Church still considers them to be an important part of our family.
