Christmas Lunches Bless the Youth and Staff at Detention Center
This past Tuesday, St. John’s Parish Church delivered Chick-Fil-A lunches to the juveniles and staff at the Detention Center. Our parishioners passed out the lunches and prayed over the juveniles if they wished prayer. All of them did! We offered a devotional geared towards individuals in prisons to each of the juveniles. It was a wonderful opportunity for us to share how much Jesus loves them. The juveniles will receive their Jesus bags, which the parish filled with toiletries, snacks and cards on Christmas day. Please continue to pray for these youths to come to know Jesus. For more infomation visit: http://stjohnsparishchurch.com/news/christmas-lunches-bless-the-youth-and-staff-at-detention-center |

The box is alphabetically organized, so be sure to leave any cards under the appropriate slot by last name, then check to see if you received any. Lay Readers
The Lay Readers serve during our Sunday service as well as any other worship services we have throughout the year. Most Sundays we have two Lay Readers to read the lessons, psalm and lead us in the Prayers of the People. This ministry often goes hand in hand with being a Eucharistic minister to help with communion; however, this is not always the case. For more information or to ask about becoming a Lay Reader, contact Sally Dixon. |

A Prayer for our Parish
Dear Heavenly Father, Together we are united with the saints of the household of God; built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Jesus Christ himself being the cornerstone. In Christ alone our church is being joined together, and is growing into a holy temple of the Lord by the Spirit. By Your wisdom may we discern what You want us to build; Through Jesus Christ our Lord and the power of the Holy Spirit, Amen. |
