It’s amazing to watch the people of St John’s working together to establish a new church home.  Here’s a list of what has been accomplished through everyone’s contributions:

  • A twenty-acre piece of property on Main Road presented itself via Johns Island/Wadmalaw friends.
    • The property is all on high ground (20 feet above sea level).
    • The property is not in a flood zone.
    • 11 acres of the property have been delineated as “upland” wetland.
    • 9 acres of the property are free and clear for development and buffered nicely by the wetland zones.
    • The building committee is 35 days into a 60 day due diligence period.
    • So far all questions about the property have been sufficiently addressed and cause no significant concerns.
    • Assuming due diligence continues to be positive, Saint John’s Parish Church will move to close on the property on October 3, 2023.
