St. John’s Parish Church is once again partnering with Samaritan’s Purse by participating in Operation Christmas Child.  Cardboard boxes will be available starting this Sunday along with an instructional brochure.  Boxes will be collected at the church Sunday, November 17.  This is a wonderful outreach opportunity for children as well as adults. Rockville Presbyterian is holding their annual Pig Pickin' Fundraiser. Eat in the Fellowship Hall or take out from the tent in the parking lot. Donations are used for local missions. St John's Parish Church works with Rockville Presbyterian every month for our Second Saturday Workday.

Those who we have given the buckets/emergency relief kits to have been extremely appreciative. Going forward we would like to provide more kits to those who need them. We have received word that there is a current need for blankets and hothands as temperatures start to drop and many homes are still without power.

Thank you to everyone who gave Bibles for Leslie and the Cowboys of Hope to distribute. We sent them a carload this week, and at this time, we are no longer collecting Bibles at St John's for them. If you would like to ship Bibles directly to them, please contact Sally Dixon for a shipping address.

The 17th Annual Lowcountry Walk for Life will be held 10am on Saturday, November 2 at Wannamaker County Park. Join for fun, food, and fellowship as we stand together for life and raise funds to benefit Lowcountry Pregnancy Center and DAZZ.

All Saints Sunday, November 3rd. Bishop Emeritus Mark Lawrence will join us as our guest preacher, and following the service, we will have a parish luncheon.

Please send the names of loved ones who have passed since November 1, 2023, to Sally so they may be added to the All Saints list and be prayed for at our All Saints Day service. Please submit names by October 28th.

Join us Wednesday, November 6 at 6:30PM as Bishop Chip Edgar addresses healthy ways for St John's to finance construction of the new property without neglecting stewardship of regular church operations.

During Thanksgiving week (Nov. 22-28, 2024)  a total of 13 missioners ranging in age from 14-80 will serve in Peru; five of the missioners are from our high school youth group. Our mission will include visits to the Diocesan House for a meeting with Bishop Jorge, celebration with Peruvian youth at the Cathedral of the Good Shepherd in Lima, worship with our friends at Sagrada Familia Church in Villa Maria, and fellowship with San Mateo Anglican School in San Juan de Lurigancho.  

Through interactions with people of another culture and language, we pray that God will expand our appreciation of how His gospel crosses every barrier to make us one in Christ Jesus.  Further, as we reconnect with leaders and friends, we seek to discern vision and opportunities moving forward. What a blessing to be able to strengthen already established relationships and build new ones as well!

Since our Peru Team will not be cooking this Thanksgiving, they are baking something yummy to help you join God’s mission right where you are. Select made from scratch, home-baked goodies to complement a special meal with friends and family, check-in with someone in need of encouragement, or to invite a few friends for tea. The 17th Annual Feeding of the Multitude will be held this year at Berkeley Electric Cooperative, 1135 Main Rd, Johns Island. Over 25 churches come together each year to serve people who have financial challenges.  Our goal is that every family on Johns and Wadmalaw Islands will have a Thanksgiving meal, and each person will feel the love and joy of Jesus Christ.

The owners of Hart Meadows Ranch have generously offered a space for us to worship on Christmas Eve this year. Mark your calendars for a truly blessed evening at a beautiful location. Service starts at 4pm, December 24.

The 2nd Saturday Workgroup meets every 2nd Saturday of the month at 8am in Resurrection Hall. They have breakfast and fellowship at 8am, then from 9-12, they work on decks, wheelchair ramps or minor home repairs. You don’t need to bring any tools but if you have a favorite hammer and cordless drill that will be fine. Contact Stephen Haynsworth for more information.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Together we are united with the saints of the household of God; built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Jesus Christ himself being the cornerstone. In Christ alone our church is being joined together, and is growing into a holy temple of the Lord by the Spirit. By Your wisdom may we discern what You want us to build; Through Jesus Christ our Lord and the power of the Holy Spirit,
