Annual Meeting

Mark your calendars for our Annual Meeting on Sunday, January 26th. Our worship service will start an hour earlier at 9AM and the meeting will immediately follow. During the meeting, we will elect four new vestry members and elect delegates to attend the diocesan convention. We will also discuss what 2025 will look like for St John's Parish Church.

2025 Offering Envelopes

Offering envelopes will be available to pick up at Haut Gap this Sunday for anyone who indicated they would like them on their pledge form. Following this Sunday, the envelopes will be available at Resurrection Hall. If you don't see yours or didn't indicate you wanted envelopes on your pledge form but would still like some, please contact Sally Dixon.

Ministry Reports

As we start another year, it's time for us to turn in our Ministry Reports for our annual meeting. Ministry leaders, this is an opportunity to share with everyone in the congregation what you and your ministry did in 2024. Please turn in your report to Sally Dixon as a Microsoft Word document no later than January 15th.

Vestry Nominations

Is God calling you to serve? Or is there someone else He's put on your heart to ask? Prayerfully consider who God is calling to serve on vestry this next year. We have four vestry members rotating off and need replacements. Fill out the vestry nomination form and send it and a short bio to Sally Dixon no later than January 15th. Please be sure to ask those you'd like to nominate before submitting their name as a nomination. Click here to view our current vestry.

Early registration opened January 6 for members of churches within the Anglican Diocese of SC. Take a look at the schedule to see what is available for your child this summer.

We will have our quarterly meeting this Saturday, January 11, at 11:15 in Resurrection Hall. Come hear stories about how our offerings have blessed recipients and help remind us of other ways to make them available. Remember, no experience is necessary. This year's Radiance Tea is to support the Lowcountry Pregnancy Center. Ladies are encouraged to bring a new baby item to the tea to supply the 'Baby Boutique' with clothing, blankets, books and bath items which parents can receive following the completion of a parenting class. And also to supply the 'Because We Care' program with diapers, wipes, formula and other essentials. (A package of diapers enters you into a raffle giveaway. — Sizes 4, 5 and 6 are the most popular.) The 2025 Christian Men’s Conference will be held at Lutheridge Camp & Conference Center, a 160-acre wooded retreat center in Arden, NC. We are thrilled to have Todd Fields returning as our Praise Leader, and Shay Gaillard will serve as our Chaplain for the weekend. 

The Thursday evening Men's Group is starting a new study February 6 - March 20. Led by Sam Gervais and Heath Gunther, they will read through J-Curve by Paul E. Miller. 

The J-Curve maps the ups and downs of daily life onto the story of Jesus. It grounds our journeys, not in some abstract idea, but in union with Christ and his work of love. Understanding our lives in light of the J-Curve roots our hope, centers our love, and tethers our faith to Christ.

Kick off your new year with a Parish Calendar, featuring a different photo every month of our parish family. We will have a sample calendar in the Connection Corridor this Sunday. Take a look and sign up to receive one of your own with a donation to the building fund.

For donations, please put "Calendar" in the memo line. Suggested donations are $50 per calendar. All proceeds will go directly to the Building Fund. Calendars will be ordered on January 20 and expected in before the end of the month.

Sign up to assist our nursery and Sunday school classes. They're lots of fun and all the materials are prepared for you ahead of time. All you need to do is show up and have fun with the kids.

The Haut Gap Angels ministry is an outreach to the students, teachers, faculty, and staff of Haut Gap Middle School. We provide prayer, encouragement, and support as well as volunteering at several events throughout the year.
