Please put your filled out pledge cards in the offering plate on Sunday or drop them off at Resurrection Hall during the week no later than this Sunday, November 10th. Ministry leaders, if you received a Budget Request Form for 2025, please be sure to get them to Sally by November 8th. A friendly reminder, checks should be made out to "St John's Parish Church". Please ensure you fill out your checks correctly so that your offering may be used for the continued stewardship of our church. |
Operation Christmas Child
Recipients love receiving a picture of their giving family so please consider including one. One shoebox recipient who moved to the US as an adult spoke at an Operation Christmas Child gathering and shared about how she put the picture she received up on her bunk bed so she could look at it often. Remember, boxes are $10 to ship. Organizers prefer that the money be given online or be mailed to Samaritan’s Purse. We still have some boxes available at Resurrection Hall should anyone want one or more. The due date for the boxes is next Sunday, November 17. Happy packing and thanks for participating. Celebrating the Ministry of Sally Frazier
Sally Frazier is a long time member of St John's Parish Church and her kind temperment is known by many. What may not be known is her ministry to Haut Gap Middle School which extends back several years to a day when Haut Gap didn't thrive like it does today. Many have stipulated that it is through her and her husband's ministry that Haut Gap did not need to shut down. Her enthusiasm to support Haut Gap wasn't a one time gig, though. As pictured above from the recent Fall Festival at Haut Gap, she shares the love of Christ with the students of Haut Gap —sometimes via s'mores— on a regular basis. Next time you see her, be sure to ask about the incredible ministry God has placed her in. |
Mission to Peru
During Thanksgiving week (Nov. 22-28, 2024) a total of 13 missioners ranging in age from 14-80 will serve in Peru; five of the missioners are from our high school youth group. Our mission will include visits to the Diocesan House for a meeting with Bishop Jorge, celebration with Peruvian youth at the Cathedral of the Good Shepherd in Lima, worship with our friends at Sagrada Familia Church in Villa Maria, and fellowship with San Mateo Anglican School in San Juan de Lurigancho. Through interactions with people of another culture and language, we pray that God will expand our appreciation of how His gospel crosses every barrier to make us one in Christ Jesus. Further, as we reconnect with leaders and friends, we seek to discern vision and opportunities moving forward. What a blessing to be able to strengthen already established relationships and build new ones as well! |

A Prayer for our Parish
Dear Heavenly Father, Together we are united with the saints of the household of God; built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Jesus Christ himself being the cornerstone. In Christ alone our church is being joined together, and is growing into a holy temple of the Lord by the Spirit. By Your wisdom may we discern what You want us to build; Through Jesus Christ our Lord and the power of the Holy Spirit, Amen. |
