Emergency Relief for Hurricane Helene
The men who were originally planning to go on a Men's Hike this weekend opted to head to Arden SC to assist with relief efforts from Hurricane Helene instead. Please keep them in your prayers during their trip. They left this morning (October 10) with three trailers filled with supplies and will be operating out of Lutheridge Camp and Conference Center. We received a request for Bibles from Kay Kitchen's grandson, Leslie, who lives in Kingsport TN. Hurricane Helene destroyed or washed away many Bibles and the people of Kingsport are asking for replacements. Leslie with the Cowboys of Hope are collecting Bibles, new or used, to hand out. We will be collecting Bibles this Sunday in the Connection Corridor or at Resurrection Hall during the week. Danny Howe with First Broad Street United Methodist Church will be in town and will take the Bibles we collect back to Kingsport with him. Contact Sally if you'd like to order and send Bibles directly to Leslie. For more infomation visit: http://stjohnsparishchurch.com/news/emergency-relief-for-hurricane-helene |

Celebrating the Ministry of Claudia Boyce
We would like to recognize one of our parishioners, Many know Claudia as the former Islands Coordinator of the Feeding of the Multitude, but she is also an active member of St John's Parish Church. She helps lead the Sunday School classes, is a reader and chalice bearer, participates in domestic outreach and much more. Outside of the ministry she does for St John's, she is a fantastic painter and has previously donated her artwork to raise funds for the new property, and is currently painting a mural at the Juvenile Detention Center. When you see her this Sunday, be sure to ask about any of the ministries she participates in. |
Ministry of the Week

A Prayer for our Parish
Dear Heavenly Father, Together we are united with the saints of the household of God; built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Jesus Christ himself being the cornerstone. In Christ alone our church is being joined together, and is growing into a holy temple of the Lord by the Spirit. By Your wisdom may we discern what You want us to build; Through Jesus Christ our Lord and the power of the Holy Spirit, Amen. |
